They are as follow:

Types of Rope:

Four types of rope can help you in mountaineering. They are Static ropes, Single Ropes, Twin Ropes, and Half Ropes.

Static Ropes:

Static RopesThese are the best kind of ropes that you can ever choose for climbing. They are perfect for hauling loads, rescue works, and caving. These ropes also come to your rescue when you are lowering an injured climber or hauling any load up with the rope.

Note: These ropes are not designed for lead climbing or top roping.

Single Ropes:

Mostly the climber prefers to use a single rope for mountaineering because it is designed to be used for climbing itself. These ropes do come in different diameters, lengths, and width as per our needs.

Twin Ropes:

Twin ropes are the best for tying two ropes together, especially during rappeling. One can go twice far with the help of Twin ropes. They provide a robust redundancy if any uncertainty has happened.

Half Ropes:

Half Ropes are used to reduce rope drag on wandering routes. If you are climbing with half ropes, then you can also use two ropes. All you need to do is clip one rope for protection and climb through others.

Diameter and Lenght of the Rope

The diameter of a single rope should be from 9.4mm to 10mm thick as per the width and length of the rope. When it comes to Half and Twin ropes, the diameter for Half ropes should be 8-9mm thick, and for twin ropes, the diameter should be 7-8mm thick. The last, Static ropes, they must have 9-13mm of thickness for climbing.

Features of the Rope

A few measurable features must be followed, and your rope should have. The ropes should have dry treatment when it is used in the water or icy region. The rope must have a middle mark to make the climbers identify the middle of the rope. Also, the rope should be Bicolor and must have End warning marks.
